Procrastination mean delay of work. It is phenomena to delay of work due to boring or uninterested work. In this era, the rate of procrastination is increasing due to social media or awareness of social media. Due to digital era, people are interested to waste their time by using social media.

 There are many reasons of procrastination.

• Lack of interest 

• Burden of work 

• Boring work 

• Physical and mental health 

• Family issues 

Why do so many people are procrastinated? 

We think that the main reason of procrastination is laziness. But the main the reason is not being laziness. Several people faced different situations in life which become resistant in their works. Occasionally, they are intense work which is hard and long. Working hard is opposite to laziness, so we can't say that this is reason of procrastination.

I think that the most people don't procrastinate due to laziness, but actually, they are procrastinated due to lack of interest. Another reason of procrastination is difficult situations which don't complete their tasks before the deadline. In this type of people is not procrastinated.

Causes of procrastination 

• Feeling of anxiety 

• stress 

• Fatigue 

• Disappointment due to falling down 

• Disturb mental health

1- Time management techniques 

To overcome procrastination manage time by different techniques. There are some techniques which help in overcoming procrastination. Those work which reduce your anxiety and depression and gives reward as completed work. But those work which increase our fear and anxiety and increase the procrastination.



Manage your time according to your work. For example, if you have 5 hours for work and you make the schedule of 8 hours. This management increase your stress and falling in procrastination. Setup goal with management techniques and break down the complexity of the tasks into smaller task and gives yourself relaxation. In this way, you enjoy your success.

2-Motivation for completed task 

The most important thing is motivation for completing task which helps to overcome the procrastination. It is critical to stay with motivation. Motivation mean to achieve positive mindset and gives satisfying feeling. Positive mindset helps in understanding that how we are completed the tasks in every situation and we'll do.



When you are falling in procrastination, you should develop positive mindset and listening motivational speeches for doing this task with new spirit. Write down your task and then focus on your target. 

3- Break big task into smaller task 

Break big task into smaller goals are so long and complex which are completed difficult and become boring. These complex tasks make us procrastinate.



We thought when and how I shall complete this task and at last we gave up due to heavy tasks. But the solution of big project is to break it to smaller parts. And applying management techniques to complete the tasks.

Break big task into smaller task is also helpful in every aspect. For example, you're writing an article, you're responsible for heading, designing and quotes. Breaking up into multiple task and in this way you will clarify everything.

4- Activity to minimize distraction 

Distraction is a process which slow down your project and keep resistant in the tasks. Distraction will cause more procrastination. You may have used to distraction in your whole day works.



For example, your friends or family members are calling you during work day. If you pick up the call and speaking with friends or family members for 30 minutes. In this way, your work time is waste and you don't complete your tasks.

Put your phone on airplane mode or silence. Establish a daily routine for completing task. Work in quiet place and block distracting sites and keep focused on your target.

5- Set a deadline 

Make a deadline for completing your task and for preventing from procrastination. A clear deadline makes it easier to understand the tasks that when I completed tasks. If you don't make deadline, then you are falling in procrastination because you don't know when I completed my tasks.



Don't make the deadline for once time. Make a schedule and set due date for new task. If you get your project without deadline foster procrastination. When we have no deadline, then we think that we have more time for completing task. So, we put off our task.

6- Work with the professional person 

Sometimes, we feel that we are expert in everything and we are still stuck. We are doing severe struggle, but we failed due to some issues in our task which we don't know. We don't know how we solved these issues. For solving issues, we should take help from a professional person.



You should work with a successful or professional person who guide and encourage you in every situation and gives solution of issues. In this way, you completed the tasks and don't procrastinate. When you work with a successful man, you noticed his daily routine and habits.

    In this way, you change your daily routine and habits, and you complete the tasks easily and before the deadline. 


Procrastination causes the negative impacts on your ability and also disturbs your mental health. About 90% of people are suffering in procrastination due to social media and putting off their tasks. We should act upon in these strategies for completing tasks before the deadline.
